MILLION DOLLAR CRUISE, LAKE WAKATIPU

We thought we were going to the movies, but got the times wrong so ended up having an enjoyable hour and a half cruise around the Queenstown/Frankton part of the lake. No great photos, just us and the bird.

Enjoying the winter sunshine.

THE ROAD TO GLENORCHY

We have just done the 45k road trip to Glenorchy which follows the edge of Lake Wakatipu.
The "Ernslaw" (white speck) making her way to Walter Peak Station.

Lake Wakatipu, cloud and mountains.

Cloud below the mountains that tower above the Glenorchy, Kinloch region.

Wilsons Bay, Lake Wakatipu.

We have been told that the water is 99.9% pure, which you can believe when you see the clarity of the water.

About halfway down the lake as we head towards Glenorchy, note how road follows the lake edge.

Looking across farmland towards the mountains above Glenorchy.
