RUFFLES MOVES ON

Ruffles our much loved and travelled campervan cat has moved in with her new owner Traydene and her Mum and two siblings where we know she will be much loved and happy in her new home.

This was one of the harder decisions that we had to make as we move into the transitional period of our new transient lifestyle but we feel it is the best one as it would have been a hard old life on Ruffles as we continually move around the country with her confined to a motorhome environment on a permanent basis.

GOATS & OLD GOATS AT KAIAUA: SHIFT IS HAPPENING

Ninety two vans were at the Auckland Area Kaiaua Rally containing a multitude of old goats (if you are offended by this that doesn't include you). The weather was great as was the fun and good times which can just about be guaranteed with Murray and Marion and the team running it. Thanks guys.

Meanwhile cupboards are being emptied and boxes packed as we prepare to shift out of our home in preparation for the new owners next week. The furniture goes into storage and we will be cramped up in our 5m campervan until or new motorhome is completed in a couple of weeks or so.

Had to call into Trail-Lite on the way home from the rally to finalise a few details on the new motorhome and had our first opportunity to SEE AND SIT IN IT! Exciting!

All Walled and Wired Up

The building programme continues at a fast pace and this weekend we are to spend sometime with Mandy at Trail-Lite discussing some of the final details.

40 Years and it Just Gets Happier

Last weekend My Love and I had a few friends and family around to help us celebrate forty years of marriage.

Over this period of time as well as having many fond memories we have been blessed with two lovely daughters and to date four grandchildren that we all adore. We now look forward to a good few years more together sharing in any excitement and adventure that comes our way.

A Technical Glitch

In preparation for our forthcoming adventures we have had all our data transferred from a Mac to PC laptop and as consequence of this I have not been able to post any photos on my blog. So this is more of a test than anything else to see if I can post text by itself.

I am hoping that my own personal help desk who is someone very dear to us will be able to remedy the problem in the near future.

The Excitement Grows---FAST!!!

We have just got the week three progress photos of our new motorhome being built from Sharyn at Trail-Lite and we are amazed at the amount of progress that has been made! How many more sleeps 'til next Thursday as we can't wait to see the next lot.

In the meantime we have had to write out another large cheque but we can see that it is all going to be well worth it.

THE BIRTH OF A DREAM

Our Isuzu NQR has been purchased and after a lot of thought and planning Traillite Motorhomes have started work on converting the cab and chassis into our dream motorhome. We are looking foward to all this coming to fruition about the middle of June in the meantime the sale of our home has gone unconditional with settlement date being 1 June.

THE BEGINNING OF A BIG ADVENTURE

After six years of campervanning on a weekend and holiday basis we are in the process of taking the BIG STEP and are about to give up our Auckland, New Zealand home of 15 years to new owners, have bought an eventual retirement property at a beach just north of Auckland and are having a new motorhome built. With this and once we have finished our present work committments at the end of the year we plan to become intinerant workers making our way around this country of ours.

How Long is a Piece of String?
People as us how long we intend to do this for and the answer is "until we get sick of it, it may be six months or it could be six years or more.
